According to the most recent information from the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Emma Coronel Aispuro, the wife of Mexican drug lord Joaqun “El Chapo” Guzmán, will be released on September 13th, 2023 after serving a three-year sentence in a U.S. prison for her involvement in her husband’s drug trafficking business (BOP).
A new release date has been established for Emma Coronel by the Bureau of Prisons (BOP).
Because only 85 percent of the term is spent at the federal level, the attorney who is part of Coronel’s defense team says her client will serve 31 of the 36 months she was sentenced to last November.
Coronel’s ten months in jail without bail have been deducted from his sentence, according to Colón, who spoke to EFE about the matter.
